Also, just to quantify why I have been using Opera for years.

Features and customability as well as performance.

Opera has had since forever what others still do not have and continue to release as new features.

To name just a few - out of the box NOT addons.

Recycled closed tabs
Mouse Gestures
Opera Turbo (REALLY useful on slow links)
Bookmark sync (Including mobile versions)
Native email client that is pretty good
Silly amounts of settings tweaking
Native content blocking
Persistent sessions (Between loads, saved layouts)
Tab stacking

I do not use a single add-on with Opera because it needs none.

You can also slim-down the app by disabling anything you do not need/use - BitTorrent client for example. The GUI is lovely and adjustable, I run a super minimalist layout to maximise viewing space.

Easier to use? Easier to use than what?

Personally use IE9 using the TPL for the adverts. Never had a problem with it and, for me, it's lightning fast. Last time I used Firefox it just ate resources like there was no tomorrow (I have to use it for a proxy bypass).

For me IE9 does everything I need.

I use FF as I do like using certain extensions that are not available in other browsers.

I have also used Opera on and off for many years and have always "enjoyed" a love / hate relationship with it. With FF I know that if I wanted to I could use that for all my needs and it would work well. With Opera (might be getting better) site compatibility was a real issue. Rendering problems and some sites not working as they should can still be a hit and miss affair (I used to always report them and sometimes post in their forums). I have not tried to use the Opera Sync for a while but it was a nightmare trying to edit your bookmarks etc, IIRC. - Yup just tried it again and I find it impossible to delete groups of bookmarks with the sync page and have to do each one individually.
I'll have to see whether Opera still has an age old issue of when using a Glass skin it renders PDF's in a way which is difficult to read.
I'm not sure what has happened to the Wahoo (Opera 12) development..? It seem to have gone quiet with that for a while...?

Of all the extensions I use for FF the one that I would miss the most is the KeeFox one - which launches the KeePass password utility.

I use firefox because of the look and feel, extensions, and speed. But you may aswell try that and chrome and see which one you like best.
 
I use Waterfox now but I have Chrome installed too since it saves me using IE9 plus I use the OCUK extension in Chrome made by oliver renault (cheers dude!).

I used Opera since the Opera 6 days, but switched to Chrome last summer. It's just more compatible with a lot of sites and tends to load faster.
 
Firefox, as I've used it for years and know it well, though I have an old P3 on linux which uses opera, as it's noticeably faster than FF on that machine.
 
Given the responses in this thread, this type of question is really based on the individual and their experiences. The best thing to do would be to try them all, or certainly the main competitors anyway, and see which one you prefer to use.
 
I wonder which is considered to be the most secure ?
I know Firefox with adblock and no script is good, but how secure is IE9 wish MSE.
If I remember correctly doesn't Chrome use some form of sandboxing ?
 
Currently a fan of IE9. It is rock solid & has never crashed once since installing on release. I think I've had about 5 instances where the website just causes the tab to hang & IE closed & recovered it, which is great for the end user and of course the other tabs were fine.

I think speed-wise they are all about the same tbh. Just depends on what addons you have installed nowdays.

Enable protected mode (You shouldn't have disabled UAC otherwise this won't work). It amazes me when ppl claim IE security sucks when they turn this powerful security feature off.
 
I used to be a die-hard mozzilla fanboy, until I tried chrome..
Now I always use chrome; even though it doesn't have html5 support and uses more processing power..

Used opera for a few days and it just frustrated me to no end. Lack of functionality is unreal.
 
Chrome but only due to using a Gmail account. I'm able to store all of my bookmarks and such and literally log on anywhere and access them.

The browser itself is extremely fast for me, and I have no issues running 3+ windows containing 15-20 tabs. I've never had a crash from what I can remember.

It boils down to your own personal preference, the speed difference of all of the big browsers is negligible.

I'm not sure which Chrome you've been using..

http://fmbip.com/ you can use this to check your browser functionality. Chrome from what I am aware of was the first browser to implement HTML5 support..
