Looking to cancel my silly high EE contract and 3 has the best contracts can find, I get a free s3 600 mins unlimited texts and 2gb of data for £30.

My only concern is 3 any good?

That's a rubbish contract, get the one plan sim only contract 30d or 12month and buy the phone outright.

Three is extremely good, getting far better reception than I did on virgin (which uses the EE network)

Indian call centres tho....

Yeah their customer support is pretty atrocious. I like 3, I get good coverage up here but I had a nightmare dealing with them when my tethering add-on failed to activate properly and they ended up adding all sorts of extra nonsense to my account which ended up costing me money (which they've said I'll be credited) instead of just cancelling it.

And how often do you phone call centres for anything?
Customer service is way down the list of what's needed, for the pure reason you need them perhaps once every few years to cancel.

Customer service is one of the main things I look for when shopping for anything, including phone contracts. Given that coverage and prices of the major suppliers is pretty much universal these days, customer service is one of those things that can sway someone from one supplier to another. I had a three contract some years ago, and while coverage was ok, any issues I had were dealt with sporadically, billing was all over the place and so I changed to O2 and have had no issues with their customer service since moving.

Things do go wrong a lot more than that resulting in need of a call... I had quite few issues with Sims/contracts/billings/add-ons.... They sent me wrong Iphone once, 16gb instead of 64.

In the end everything always got sorted, but I did have to dedicate whole day to the Indian Call Center....

Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt swap 3 for any other network.... I was happy to deal with crap Service, things like truly unlimited data (well 80gb) really did make up for it at the price they offered.

My hotspot was x4 faster than home broadband which is shockingly slow since its new build and for some reason they refused and still refuse to upgrade communications, so stuck with 2mb phone line....

Now I pay 80 dollars just for a sim and still my tethering is limited to 5gb....

They aren't even close to universal, there is such a massive price difference it's not even remotely close.

If they were near enough the same price, yes. But they aren't.

The network is fine but an S3 for £30, really? You realise that that S5 is out? I wouldn't except anything than an S4 at that price.

Oh and amen to the cust support that doesn't understand English.

They pretty much are, a few pound difference depending on the service provision and phone you decide to have. iPhone contracts for example are much of a muchness amongst the leading networks, with 3 and O2 being pretty much the same at £35 and £33 respectively. If you shop around you can always get deals which means that the ancillaries such as UK call centres etc are quite important to some people.

It's not a few pounds difference at all. Young cant even get unlimited on EE.

EE 22.99 for 4gb
Three unlimited for 23the closest to unlimited on EE is 50g on 24month contract at 74.99 a month.

O2 8gb max 12month not monthly and £30, so yet again no where near a few quid.

So yeah no where near a few pounds difference.

I have had no problems with coverage or billing. Plus working in Sweden half the week I benefit as I can use my phone like normal. Calls and texts to UK numbers free. Plus my unlimited data :)

Ive recently moved from 3 to EE due to a few things, the 4G on EE is way faster (where I live in manchester anyway) and I often get 'thrown off' the internet on three where I have to reboot my phone to get it to work again

three say this is 'busy network in your area'
but i read that as 'we're selling to way more people than we can sustain sometimes'

however other than that they were good to me for 3 years!

Don't go near vodafone, Im having nothing but signal issues which they have tried to blame on anything but its them saying its my sim, which they replaced, said its my phone which iv been told to replace so i tried in another handset same issue now im trying to push it up the management chain to get a cancellation without etf or with a greatly reduced etf as they've seriously messed me around

Im looking at giffgaff or 3 now

Vodafone is just useless. Often in the 100's of kb, when every other network is getting 3mb+

Just change network. EE or three(reasonably neck and neck, EE has more 4g area, but by god do you pay through the nose for it), then a massive gap to o2 then a massive gap to Vodafone. On average, so your specific area may be different.

And yet an iPhone contract on 3 is £35 and the same on O2 is £33. Like I said, like for like they are pretty much the same and if not, you can shop around and find deals that mean effectively you can choose any network and get similar provision for a similar price.

EE 4g plan: £38 (4GB)...the same on Vodaphone: £42 (3GB)...three: £38 (2GB) all with the iPhone 5s.

So you can get similar provision and contracts for very similar money.
