What is causing this annoying thing?!?!?!

I wouldn't trust the cheap Analog to digital converters in these cables to be honest, potentially end up with a poorer picture quality.

A new VGA cable or DVI adaptor should be first point of call.

Yeah I've gone "gold plated" route for a new cable. We'll see the results. But after trying other things the only thing it could be are, DVI port on GFX card, or the actual converter.

Well thats interesting OP.... almost EXACTLY the same thing happened to me. I had a 280x graphics card as well.....

Had the problem with vga cable (and dvi-d <> vga adaptor) using an older monitor (monitor was only vga but graphics card was DVI)

Sortof solved by buying a new monitor (which had DVI and HDMI) but experienced other problems with graphics card so RMAed it.

Hrmmm cant remember if i still had the lines problem using hdmi and the 280x with the new monitor

Yeah I'll try the new cable and it's either a new monitor or GFX card.. I don't know would I benefit more for having 1080p @120hz or 1080p with a 4GB card for newer games and mods

Ahh so you will get a new monitor then? Thats interesting... i just got a replacement graphics card back 280x and im getting similar lines to you though not as bad i think.

Like you i had no such lines with the integrated card. I'm also using a new monitor with hdmi. I think its something to do with the hdmi connection or cable if im honest. Dont think its the graphics cards as what are the odds 2 graphics cards in a row are faulty.

Im gonna try a different cable there is a Displayport connection with this monitor so gonna try that.

Keep us updated :)

Well as Spock would say....fascinating... i switched off Vsnyc and the lines are gone. (tested using the sleeping dogs benchmark)

Of course my monitor is a piece of **** so i get a ****load of judder when i have vysnc off :(

But anyway its something you could try ie switch Vynsc off
