Hi, a few days ago my Hyper PSU went POP and took a few components with it.

It was running a Over Clocked opteron 146, I was into over clocking about 4 years ago and followed the opteron threads closely.

I have been out of the 'game' as far as overclocking and keeping up with computers for a while now.

Anyhow OcUK sorted me out with this replacement bundle....

Can someone tell me what Dual core actually does for me. As I have just reinstalled this above bundle and slowly putting everything back on. But was curious what Dual core actually does for a PC user.

Thanks

Dual-core processors contain two processing cores, residing on one chip, that perform calculations on two streams of data to increase efficiency and speed while running multiple programs and the new generation of multi-threaded software. For end-users this means a significant increase in response and performance when running multiple applications simultaneously.

Sums it up nicely to be honest :)

Your old CPU had One core, Your new CPU has two cores as in Dual = Two, It's Magic ;)
Progs that have the code can take advantage of Both cores cutting down on overloading & slow downs.
