What is FSSM32.exe? its using all my RAM/CPU

hi, have an old comp im trying to clean up for a friend in task manager there is a process called FSSM32.exe and it seems to be using a hell of a lot of the system resorses up. any one know what it is and can i get rid of it and if so how?
