What is love?

No offense taken ;)

Simply because you made an assumption that you shouldn't have. In that way? As in I wanted to tap that? No. The thread I linked above was about how I loved them as two of my closest friends, and it just somehow disintegrated and that killed me. I too hate it when people claim that they 'love' somebody who they've been going out for a few days. What really annoys me is when girls say "I love [male celeb]" FFS you DO NOT LOVE HIM. You think that he is fit

I meant in general, with the kids saying 'I love xxxx'

I didn't read the thread, it just reminded me of how much it annoys me when teenagers to like to proclaim their love for anything with a gash.

*edit*

A quick glance at your thread, it seems that you are looking for love, or want to look for it, rather than just let it happen.

I thought that only happened to wimmin in some crappy hollywood love movie starring Catherine Heigl...man she's fitt, I love her I think.

Yeah, I agree with you. However, I have seen cases when there really has been genuine love.

But my apologies for not being clearer. I was speaking about platonic love.

Who knows what it is, but I know one thing.... It can really screw you up, that is if it is actually love, or not just infatuation. Both a mighty strong words.

Edit:

Crap, should I have laid a joke down in here???

It's an evolved chemical/mechanical process that alters your perception/experience so that you believe a particular set of your actions on this world, in this life, are in some sort of a way meaningful and fullfilling, but really it's just your genetic makeup/biology wanting to propogate itself, flourish and survive i.e. you're nothing but an evolved and prolonged chemical chain reaction. Other similar positive emotional states that fall under this description: Happiness, joy, elation, etc. There might be other emotional states we haven't even found words for yet.

Couldn't have put it better!

Couldn't agree more. And you realise it even more when you lose that someone, cry as they walk away or lose sleep over them.

On a cheerier note, it's when you repeatedly wake up next to them with a smile on your face and think you are the luckiest person alive to have them in your life.

Ha !! Funny thing is that is exactly how I feel every single day.. :D
So I think you have it spot on ;)

love is when you feel butterflies in your stomach just by standing near one you are most fond of.

Theres different kinds of love though isnt there I mean I love my uncles and cousins but I dont get butterflies when I am near them.

Its a hard thing to put your finger on. I suppose love stems from evolution and the survival of your pack.

Dogs love their Masters dont they so it's not a Human Intelligence thing.

I still don't understand this... is this meant to happen to men?
My girlfriend mentioned this happening to her a lot of times even when we're just together though..
