i think im being bit thick here but i reently posted asking for a quote for my old system and was deleted by admin (fair enough really). It said no quotes outside MM.

What is MM and can anyone recoment a forum of site i can get some advice regarding selling an old PC in order to finance a new one (from OcUK i may add)

MM is the Members Market, you have to have 250 posts and have enabled your 'trust' to be able to access it. :)

As for your other questions, the only place that can be mentioned really is the bay of e, even then talking of it is dodgey.

I'm not quite sure why quotes aren't allowed as it isn't selling anything. It would be better to move the price check forum from the members market so people could access it.

i agree...i just want to know what its worth.

im not looking to sell it yet...just looking for some opinions

Join the club. My thread was also deleted for similar reasons. I am looking to upgrade to CD, but i had no idea what my current system was worth. Other than optical drives, i have nothing to re-use, so i may as well sell the system, complete or stripped.

Can`t really see why asking for opinions as regards value should be a problem.

As it leads to people making offers and dealing outside MM.

MM is there and has access restricted to allow members to be vetted and to stop scammers getting in easily, price checks outside of that section would open people up to scams who have not read the FAQ on trading on these boards.

The rules have been in place for a long time now and generally MM is trouble free, people certainly appreciate them when they have problem deals. :)

For future reference its best to email a don if you have any questions about moderating or the rules.
