What is my pcs bottleneck?

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.13GHz - clocked to 2.8GHz (it doesn't seem to like going past this)

Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK)

OcUK GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-620HXUK)

I am trying to play grid at 1680x1050 and I am very limited on what graphics level I can set. Will upgrading to 2GB of RAM make a big difference, or do I really need to update the graphics card to one with more memory?

if you got a 4870 you would get a big improvement in grid especially, it loves the new ati cards :d. another 2 gigs of ram would be helpful especially if your on vista.

agreed For starters get another 2gb of ram & see how it goes or 1gb if your running a 32bit os

Upgrade to 4gb, and as suggested already get a better GFX card. A 2.8 dual core should be fine I'd imagine.

I'd imagine you're main bottleneck there is GPU, I had 4gb of ram, a 3.2 e6600 and a 640mb gts. Upgraded to a 4870x2 and (obviously) performance increased a fair bit! Upgrading to 4gb of ram with vista 64-bit is just sensible tbh

Id definately look into getting 4gb of ram and a new gpu! a 4850/70 would be a massive upgrade in terms of performance!
