It's all about the science for me. I have a physics degree and BOINC gives me the chance to contrbute in some small way to the greater knowledge of mankind. Hence why I'll choose SIMAP, Rosetta and Einstein over SETI.

That's the same here, although I lost the way for a couple of years. Did a bit of climate prediction but now firmly on some Einstein@home.
