HDMI will be about the same as DVI: a [usually] happy 10m, pushing it to 15m with a good cable and above 15m you need a very impressive cable if you're still passive.
What is the approx max distance away that you can operate your PC?

It's so great to get some quick feedback, speeds up the brainstorming no end.
I'm gonna buy a ball of string and start measure up, the cables will be passing down a gap in the upstairs floor, this gap is shared by hot and cold water pipes. Any of these cables sensitive to hot and cold?
