What Is The Best LCD TV Resolution To Get For The Wii

LCDs always appear to have better image than plasma TVs. This is just what I've noticed looking a TVs while around town. The image on an LCD seems not to look as dull and lot crisper.

(but I don't have much exp in these matters)

Compared to LCD and plasma, CRT has perfect colours, gives a better picture and has an instant response for fast moving images. No blurring, no ghosting.
Yeah, my 17 years old 21" tv screen looks much better than my friends' cheap LCDs.

Anyone who has bought an LCD TV and seen how poor the picture quality is when watching television.
Seen plenty of them!

Yes the cheap ones are worse than the more expensive ones, BUT even the best LCDs are still poor compared to CRT (for standard TV that is) because of the inherent drawbacks of the LCD technology.

My 32" LCD when plugged in to my cable box with RGB scart didn't look that hot and I probably would have agreed that the artifacts that LCD (and any high def TV including better plasmas) detracts from the picture so a CRT can look nicer for watching TV (and other poor analogue sources).

However, when you switch to the internal freeview, it looks a whole lot crisper with none of the smears and blocks and beats CRT quite easily. Now I'm using a cable box with a digital HDMI connection, it looks even better. You never see any scaling or digitising artifacts.

If you pair up an LCD with a poor source, it looks bad. Give it a nice input and it looks leagues above a CRT.

If the TV is 1280 768 which is 15:9 so isnt proper widescreen does anyone know how this would translate when playing a gamcube game.

I'm thinking it would either have black lines above an below or it would stretch the image vertically, either of which doesn't sound very good. The problem is 1280 768 is the perfect resolution for a PC, the stupid manufacturers could at least make them the same, i've never even seen a pc resolution fo 1366 768. :(
