What is the best mechanical keyboard to buy ?

HI All

I am looking to buy a mechanical keyboard for gaming. I would be using to play FPS and strategy games. Also I would prefer the keys to be cherry mx red switches. My budget on spending on a keyboard is £200. What would you guys recommend to buy?

Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

I have the Qpad MK-85 on reds and would recommend it. Very nice quality, straight forward layout. Previously had a Razer keyboard and mouse but they both fell to bits. I may have just been unlucky but for the money the build quality just wasn't there

Thanks for replying back. I thought about buying the QPAD MK-85. But I can’t decide between QPAD MK-85 and these keyboards down below. What would you choose if you were in my shoes?

But I would first determine which colour switches are best for you and make a decision from there.

Can you recommend any good PBT keycaps? Looking to replace the stock ones on my Majestouch 2.

I have the Ducky ones listed on OcUK and they are good. I would have preferred something a bit thicker but these are the best ISO PBT caps available.

Any of these really. I would personally go with the K70, gunmetal, MX Brown. Can't fault my QPad, but it's not the prettiest.

I have the FILCO Majestouch 2 Ninja Tenkeyless with Cherry MX Browns. It's great! I actually wrote a pretty detailed review some time ago here.

Not that cheap though...

+1 I currently have a qpad mk85 with reds great keyboard with excellent build quality

Thanks for the response. I wanted to buy the Filco Ninja Majestouch 2 with the numpad included using mx red switches but they don’t have the uk layout but they do sale the the us layout. I wondering is it worth buying the us layout keyboard and what is the difference between the uk and us layout, or should I buy something else instead?

The US layout has no £ key, but has (IMO) a slightly better layout, with the larger left shift. Certainly better for gaming.

You sure on MX Red switches though?
