I have seen people use ` instead of ' which is really annoying because it takes up more space and looks stupid. I think The Sun do it on their website.

I have no idea what its actual purpose is though

The backquote is used in some programming languages..

I've setup a shortcut on that button because I _never_ use it. Alt+¬ configured in Ultramon to swap the active window between monitors

I use it for ultramon toggling between 1, 2 or 3 monitors
