What is the con with amazon marketplace?

I've had a friend who did the same with a TV from the marketplace and saved a fair bit, his TV is still working it was an open box with an accessory missing.

Hopefully so. ;) :D

By making an electrical good that looks simmilar but is much lower spec.

Theres fake iphones and everything available.

For say a TV the original could be a high quality 4k IPS pannel the fake a 1080p TN panel

Will definitely be checking serial numbers etc/warranty status. etc

So basically don't be silly and you'll be fine and not get scammed.

It annoys me that people would actually consider paying outside of Amazon.

You need to go to China :D

Lololol, probably true.

Ah wth, in fairness Amazon have been very decent in the past with everything normal that I've ever bought so touch wood its fine. If it isn't I'll just send back and get moohlah back. If it does go okay, then that's saved me some money. :)

Yep, lots of fakes/scam accounts on Amazon marketplace. I have alerts setup on CamelCamelCamel and regularly get emails on used items (stuff like Surface Pro's or DSLRs) that are way cheaper than they should be.

Not everything outside of Amazon is a fake. I had a perfectly genuine piece of rather expensive software still shrink wrapped and everything and despite umpteen inquiries via email whether it was genuine or not no-one would touch it.

Had to get rid of it on eBay for peanuts in the end, someone got a bargain at anyrate.

This is always something I see when I'm looking at Home Cinema projectors. The Panasonic pta6000 projector keeps appearing for £700 but the seller says you need to contact them first.

I'm regularly scanning for an OLED tv, I see these suspiciously cheap listings all the time. 100% scam, wouldn't touch with a bargepole.

A friend of mine wanted to buy half price iPads from a seller like this. Then sell them on and make a profit.

Obviously a scam to me but she took some convincing not to send any money.
