There are differing reports, some say it will accept 9.0mm, other reports say 9.5mm.

I want to get Toshiba MK7559GSXP which is 9.5mm but different people say different things!

Help!

as far as im aware you can use any 2.5" drive, since they are all built to a standard i.e. all the same dimensions. :)

I bought a replacement HD for my laptop I came across this same thing, apparently you also get 12.5mm thick 2.5" hard drives rather than just 9.5mm.

iirc depends on the model i think some of the older ones would only accept upto 500gb and don't get a 7200rpm drive it makes no difference they have same read write times as the 5400rpm's something software related iirc

just google it lots of info on there

Not sure exactly on the dimensions, I wasn't really aware they differed. I just thought it was most if not all 2.5" laptop drives that would fit. :p

I know that WD scorpio blue HDDs should fit, I used one myself. (500gb).

Some people have a 1TB PS3 though

Just pick up a WD scorpio blue 500GB, should be plenty big enough. I put one in my PS3 and still got 400GB left - works and fits just fine.

As for a 1TB PS3? Wow, little overkill... lol

Well I suspect I know why he wants one so large, so in his case no it isnt overkill ;)

Depends if it affects how the connectors line up though...

9.5mm HDDs are fine - thats whats in mine currently

ps3ud0

It sure does. The stock 250gb in my slim is 9mm and slots in cleanly. The Vertex LE is 9.5mm and took a bit of positioning to get the connectors to align up correctly.
