What is the latin for....

I'm not sure about legal terms, maybe one of the legal beagles like Nitefly might be of more help, but I guess you could say ....[Obligatio..]."Ex Necessitate Legis" which basically means "Out of legal necessity" or "Ipso Jure" which means 'just because of the law'....or maybe "Leges (or Lex) Scriptae"...'Statutory Law'

Not much help I'm afraid.

Good enough for me, thanks a lot. I doubt you're interested but if you are, I'll send you my work so you can see the context it's written in. :p

Caecillius est in horto?

I think I started with the same Latin textbook as you. Cerberus est canis.

What was the cook's name? It began with a 'G'. "Grumio" rings a bell.

My Latin teacher is one of few who I still remember 30 years later. Not so much for the Latin as for the context he placed it in - he taught us about ancient Rome as part of showing how Latin was used as an everyday language.
