What is the point of family

Ain't half a long time, how many bedrooms did that kitchen have. You could build one of those Ikea flat pack houses quicker! :p

Origianlly we were going to just rip the old units out and put new ones in.

But as we were destroying the units the plaster was coming off:D, so we decided to completely gut it and start again, including plumbing/electrics e.t.c.:(

Should be over this weekend, so I can stop being a grumpy git:p

Threads like this make me so glad I don't have any bros/sisters.

If I did, I would give them something for their help though - like take them out for meal/crate of beer.

But from my experience these days - there are many bros/sisters who expect this stuff and give nothing in return (then they can't understand why they never see their brother/sister again because they have taken the huffs because they were taken advantage of - This then turns into a family feud and the brother or sister never really get on again)

You will never really find the right answer unless you ask him to do something similar in the future. If he refuses, I guarentee you will blow a gasket and thats when the fun will start.

If it was your mum or Dad you were helping would you expect the payment ? I doubt it, so why any different for Brother or Sister ?

O/P sounds a bit tight IMHO. On the presumption that said brother will help out equally when the occasion calls for it.

I think I need to defend myself a bit here, I am not tight, infact I am the opposit, too helpful some might say. The original post was supposed to see what other people would do in a similar situation, not as sounded that I was complaining:o

I did post after working a 7-4 shift and then doing 6 hours at me bro's tho so :p

I wouldn't charge them.. but I would certainly hint that a beer wouldn't go a miss :)
