what is this called?

My little nephew recently teared the leather part of the gear stick and i dont know what its called to get a new one.

(the image is from google image search and i typed in gear stick. for those who are gonna simply reply get the name from where you got the pic from.)

i came back and found a rip through it that wasnt there really not sure how the bugger done it though. (im not an irisponsible uncle i was standing outside the car talking to some mates, didnt leave him in the car and wonder off if thats what you are thinking
