What is this car?

The vehicle details for 419 DTC are:

Year of Manufacture: 1990
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3405CC

big engine for an MR2?

MR2 with stick on F40 tat?

Could be, but there are clues that it is something else there ;)

EDIT: Year of manufacturer 1990 gives the whole game away, I think :p

It's a kit imo. Missing the 'gill looking' air intakes behind and above the back wheels + as someone said, the exhausts are different.

I think it's a Koenig F48, the twin turbo one, personally.

Without knowing that because Nozzer told you, you would have branded that a replica kit, like so many others ;)

I am trying to find out how many were made. I have a sneaking feeling that this is the rarest car I have ever seen on the road :)

Nozzer identified it correctly - here is the exact same car!

I remember the koenig testarossa from years back. 1000 bhp or something silly
wasn't that the car with cockpit adjustable boost?
a large dial on the centre console with 100 bhp increments from 400 BHP all the way upto 1000BHP.

Enzo absolutely hated Willi Koenig, trying legal action on more than one occaision.
the official line was, and still is, that Enzo's finest is exactly that....and shouldn't be altered in any way, shape or form.
