What is this tree....

Magnolia is a large genus of about 210 flowering plant species in the subfamily Magnolioideae of the family Magnoliaceae. It is named after French botanist Pierre Magnol. Magnolia is an ancient genus.

So to sum up Magnolia from this thread;

A flowery genius (autocorrect,sp?) who may be slighty nutty and the content of the first post is out of focus. Also brightens up the place on a dull day.

I am glad to have Magnolia as our official forum tree/plant/shrub.

Hey all, I walk this way to and from work all the time and suddenly in the last few weeks this tree has blossomed in someone randoms front garden and I think its really nice :D

Anyone able to tell me what it is? I admit that its not the best photo, if we need a better one I will try, but its hard to take a picture of someone's front garden without looking like a pervert (its so small I'll basically be taking a picture into their living room)!
