Just booted it up and went for a 'phone call. Got back and Win 7 was doing some system check for errors. It could not find out what was wrong so I rebooted it, noticed the corruption - it occurs in BIOS - and Win 7 gets so far and bluescreens.

Any ideas? I have few opportunities to test parts.

E6600, 4 gig of some memory, GT8800, Win 7 x64, Asus P5B (?).

Cheers.

I think if its vertical lines its the core itself meaning the card is on the way out, or just overheating, or some other issue.

yea is probably the graphics card those sort of lines used to apear if you overclocked the memory on a gfx card to much

I got a screen worse than this, the results turns out that my 8800GTX died, it will never output any image again after showing that corrupted screen
