maybe a useful resource for people picking a new camera.. or just an excuse to have a moan. Specify what your camera is, and what annoys you about it;

Nikon D50
Lack of DOF preview button.
Screen quality is poor making shots look over exposed when they're not
No VF grid
Top LCD is not back lit.
IR shutter release is difficult to do from behind the camera.

I think that's it.

Canon 1D MkII
Sometimes the weight's a pain
One day the shutter will die and I can guarantee it'll be at the most inconvenient time.

Four years old and nearly 90K actuations, it's done everything that's been asked of it and still amazes me with it's capabilities.

Canon 400D
- Feels like a toy, 'plasticy'
- Small Viewfinder
- Pointless Print button

Canon 40D
- LCD gets manky very quickly
- Pointless Print button
- Dedicated AFon button is useful, however the mainstream battery grip lacks the AFon button, rendering the feature pretty useless when shooting in portrait using the grip

Canon 1d MKIII

1.> Automated sensor cleaning just moves dust around

2.> Battery from MKIIn isn't compatible

3.> Custom functions take ages to work out, the camera sucks out of the box, unless you take your time setting it up.

4.> No decent LCD cover/protection like some of the Nikons

Apart from that one hell of a body, running with new firmware still no AF issues to date.

Canon 400D
- very small in the hand, somewhat uncomfortably
- no dedicated controls!
- no spot metering!

Nikon D40x

- No autofocus in the body (needs AS-F lenses for AF), though that's only stopped me from buying 1 lens (50mm F1.8).
- No on-camera remote flash control - need a separate SB800 or SU800 for that.

Canon 20D
Could be smaller and lighter - I bought an IXUS 860IS.
The sensor needs cleaning.
Shutter is loud!

Had since launch in Oct 2004, at least that the date on the first shot. After some 20k shots I'm happy to say it's the best "gadget" I every bought. Briefly looked at 30D and 40D but decided they didn't offer much more.

- Wondering why people keep saying I need 10Mpixels
- Does collect dust on the sensor and needs cleaning fairly regularly

20D

-Poor physical interface. Nikon's thumb/index finger wheels feel better to use.
-No wireless flash capability out of the box.
-No proper shutter actuation counter.
-Stupid DoF preview button location.

Nikon D80
-Stupid chrome shutter release button
-No middle button on d-pad (have to move thumb to the OK button)
-AF mode and shooting mode buttons are single press, while the metering and exp. comp. buttons are hold+turn command wheel. I'd prefer the latter.
-No mirror-lock up function (for shooting, not for cleaning).
-Only one custom function button on the front.
-No metering switch like the D300

They're all minor issues though.

Nikon D200....

Nothing really, except the rubberised coat is starting to come away around the front jog dial. But then it has been used everyday for the last year for work, and then at the weekends for pleasure.

Great camera that took very little getting used to.
