Hmmm, dreams eh?

I'm thinking bodyguards, helicopters, underground mansion, charities (adult development, enrichment, training ones I imagine, maybe some psychological research ones as well), funding construction of a commercial sized Thorium reactor (to get the ball rolling), enough corporations owned to get a big influence over the country, a small African nation to call my own, whole legion of people to enact every wish (" I want that field reforested!" *Two days later* "Much better!", or maybe "Make me a road legal electric sports main battle tank, 120mm gun, rockets to hover with, 0-60 <5s, and make it snappy!" *3 Months, several legislation changes, and a few large office blocks full of Engineers later* "**** yeah")...

That sort of thing.

Tbh I don't really care much about what amount of material possessions I end up with, as long as I end up with enough money to feed, clothe, shelter me and my future family, with enough leftover to engage in a few hobbies, go on moderately priced holidays, get a few gadgets.

While my extravagant dream would be quite cool, it's certainly not a real aspiration of mine, and all I really want is enough for me to live on and allow me to enjoy the rest of life - other humans, everyday enjoyment of the little things, etc.

Aim is to have a GT-R or a car around £35-40k (if it turns out that I don't like the GT-R ;) ) by the time I'm 30, a bit ambitious but there is no harm in trying.

That's a pretty modest dream imho.

:p

My financial dream is to have enough to make me happy.

To be damn filthy rich! Oh and have a Aston Martin.

+1 Aston v12 vantage... and cruise around on beautiful scenic locations like Clarkson.

filthy rich loads money. More filthy rich than Abramovich who blew over 800 million pounds on a boat then used it for less than 2 weeks and sold it at loss apparently if media is telling the truth.

I love that playboy life style hot girls, loads of cars, boats, houses. Poker casinos.

Thats how some people are living.

I'd like to get the point where not a penny was owed to anyone (only debt I have is mortgage at the moment) and I didn't need to worry if I ever earned another penny (not including interest or return on investment) without disrupting the lifestyle which I wish to enjoy.

Anything after that would just be sloshing around being of little use to anyone.

I think becoming an Architect and earning 75K+ a year and then buy a Lamborghini LP 640/4 SV

I think if you are to own your own home ie have a mortgage etc. people on £75k generally can't afford Lamborghinis. £75k may seem a huge salary but in terms of super car owning territory it isn't.

Mine would be to earn enough to live comfortably:

all bills payed when needed
1-2 holidays per year, with no limit as to where i can go
buy, and keep a decent car (nothing silly, although i would never say no to a lambo lol)
and enough in the bank to do or buy things when i need to
Not sure what that would look like as an annual income.

But i think 15k a year would do me. obviously more would be better, but i'm not that greedy.

15k lol that's shelf stacker money -it simply will not give you that lifestyle.

A lot of greedy people in here tbf. Money is nice and all but it's far from everything. Like a guy said above, 15k can allow you to live comfortably as long as you don't want to live a luxurious life.

Saying that a euro millions win would be nice just to experience what being mega rich is like.

I really don't have expensive tastes, I don't want an amazing car or an amazing house, but I would prefer to know that I have enough money to be able to live somewhere reasonably pleasant and not worry that I'll ever be unable to pay the bills.

I think modern life is ridiculously expensive, especially the price of property. I'm only interested in money in terms of it allows you to live somewhere reasonably pleasant.

No good if you want to ever own a house and support a family though - 15k a year wouldn't get you very far on the housing ladder!

I'd want to live comfortably but I have no interest in the champagne lifestyle. Unfortunately, the better half already has the future children already in expensive private schools, so looks like I'll need to buck up my act a little :p
