Anti-Malware/Adware/etc - Malwarebytes

PC's backup to WHS daily. Total offsite backup completed weekly or after a vital piece of work is completed (ie wedding shoot). Server backups done weekly also (external H/D's).

Have to admit, I have been tempted to get rid of my anti-virus entirely. However, I get my e-mails from gmail into Outlook via IMAP so I really want them scanning as they download just in case someone sends me something a bit nasty.

AV programs aren't much protection against a lot of these types of threat anyway.

The methods used by the common/public flash and PDF exploits still rely on a payload like to work. Anyone who wanted to get full access to an AV free system running PDF Reader < 9.2 or Flash 10.1 could do so in almost point and click ease with some easily googleable tools. If they had AV it would be picked up immediately.

I admit AV isn't going to stop anyone with serious motivation to get into your PC but for the sake of having an icon in your system tray, why not?
