What is your VID Rating!!??

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition 2.40Ghz"

Mine is 1.3250

(i thought this was very high and the reason i could not oc more but my friends is the same and he got his to 3.3Ghz)

I cant get it stable anywhere past 3.096ghz. (Prime 95)

With this setup from overclockers

Overclocked Bundle ** Abit IP35 Pro XE Motherboard / Intel Q6600 Quad Core @ 3.20Ghz / 2GB (2x1GB) OCZ PC-8500 RAM / Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler

Windows 64bit

So many people are useing 8x multiplyer and makeing it ''look'' like the CPU is faster??

what is the same speed when a cpu is at 345x9 compaired to XXXx9

I cant get anythin faster from my cpu at 3.096ghz at 1.47volts.

But i can when i go 8x multiplyer. What should i be doin?

As I type : Q6600 3.4 (seems stable) VID = 1.3250, Core Voltage = 1.552 V :(

I must admit I haven't set the voltage to manual, left on auto, simply because to have the confidence to do so I'd need one of my more technically literate friends to come round and show me. If I press the wrong button I could nuke the planet! :D

just like my cpu :(

Well to some this thread up.

VID Rating is almost nothing to do with how well you can overclock your chip.

Yes its true!
