What ISP Cable or ADSL???

Hello i am moving into a student house with 8 of my mates, the house is currently using a telewest line (cable) i was wondering what the best thing to do regarding internet and phone.

My limit is £567 for the year.

Should i go for something like virgin media or go adsl and pay a £125 connection charge.

Your ideas.

I'd go Cable.

ADSL activation charge is 40 something.

cable is better than ADSL

Cable, as long as the service in that area is decent.

Decided to go for the 20mb virgin service as its only £29 at the moment.

One question, if your downloading with cable does your ping get affected in games as i know it does on ADSL?

Well...er...of course. Although that depends on how much of your download/upload you're utilising.
