No-one can know your potential line speeds without your line Attenuation, SNR Margin and current sync speed from your router. You can type your number in here: http://www.dslzoneuk.net/checker.php and check what BT think your line will get. This is very rough - my line was estimated at 3Mbit but I'm stable at 5.5Mbits.ants83 said:im looking at eclipse evo 1 package at 14.99 could someone tell me my likely speeds?i can get 8meg on my line. Its a 20GB Peak cap download as much as you like within reason other times. Is this right?is there any catches?
The reason why I decided to migrate to Zen was because I mainly see positive comments about their speed, reliability, customer support etc.smids said:If you don't mind paying slightly more (and judging by your specs you don't!), then you cannot go wrong with Zen - one of the best ISP's out there.
Dunno if your talking to me or not but if you are I am very happy I chose Zen.smids said:How do you find them?
Yes, I was, sorry for not using quotesCurlyWhirly said:Dunno if your talking to me or not but if you are I am very happy I chose Zen.

Neither have I, until the delayed emails of late - that was enough, along with general mal-feeling to get me to jump ship. I don't like excessive changes of T&C's nor do I like being throttled whilst I haven't even exceeded my quota. I am an adult and want to be treated like one.Clarkey said:plusnet, they have a dubious reputation but I've never had a problem with them.

Thanks for the tip offaxer said:What’s the point in that, Nildram is owned by Pipex?
Despite Pipex saying they were going to touch Nildrams network they have, just last week they started depeering Nildrams links and pushing them through the pipex network along with imposing new harsh peering rules (to peer with pipex you now need to push about 1.5Gbit!)
All in all this can only be bad news for pipex/nildram customers as it means that where as before most ISP's peered directly with pipex over the various London based peering points (which is generally the fastest and cheapest way to get into one-another’s networks) and now this may no longer be the case.
My advice would be to steer clear of Pipex/Nildram until they make there intentions clear!
