What kind of set up would i need to play AC,Pc2,Dr2 in vr?

Edit, ooops sorry mods i didn't even realise there was a dedicated vr section on this forum.

I currently have a i7-4790 (non k) 16gb ram with a RX580 4gb, I really want to try this VR business everybody seems to be raving about. I am used to playing on a 42" Sony TV 60fps at 1080p i am wondering what the best budget option would be VR wise to at least match this? Hoping i can get away with a GPU upgrade and a headset. Any recommendations?

Your best bet is probably a Rift S and RTX 2060 as a minimum, assuming buying new. Otherwise I'm still rocking a CV1 which can be had cheap second hand.

If you go with an old Rift, make sure you have the USB port configuration that would support it. It needs LOTS of USB3s, if you go with the full setup especially. I have a card, but TBH, it's a bit of a palava.

Also, the games need to run at 100+ fps to be comfortable. That's true for whatever VR gen, old and new.

And you need some room to move around.

My 1080 gtx works fine for VR although they are still pricey if you can find one?

Rift S / CV1 and RTX 2060 /1080 gtx are all within budget so that's good. Its either a vr set up or triple screens. I just youtubed Rift S + RTX 2060 + assetto corsa and WOAH, it looks way better than i was expecting! Is there a big difference between the Rift S and CV1? Vr would be much less hassle than installing triple screens and no space to take up also.

Also why do VR Games need to run at 100+ fps to be comfortable?
