I had 6 ati cards in the last 2 years. Not a ati fanboy but I get whatever give the best performance at the right price.

Nvidia (Gigabyte GTX460 coming tomorrow).

Previous cards in reverse chronological order: ATI, NV, ATI, NV, NV, NV.

The ATI cards were 4850 and 9800PRO.

Sorry dont want to hijack the thread but whatever happened to S3 ? I had a few S3 graphics cards, from the old S3 Virge to the savage 3D, I think my last S3 card was a Diamond Stealth with 32mb from about 99 iirc, seems a shame they dissapeared from the gaming card scene, more competition for the red and green teams and more choice for us the consumers would be good, but obviously they would have to have an outstanding product to make a comeback in this market, I would like to some company try and make a dent in the gaming card industry, is there any others out there trying ? Matrox is another that comes to mind as well, sorry for going off topic.

s3 was taken over by Via.

so now u only get them as part of the Via intergrated boards, like thier mini-itx range.

the current unichrome chipsets

Actually they do have some discrete cards, they're just about competitive with the 4350 and the like though. Though to be fair they had a DX10.1 part out before Nvidia. :D

Ok, so one day on from installing a new 480 from a 5870, i prefer the Nvidia, The strange way the CCC and clock speeds are handled is annoying, and personally i prefer the NV Control Panel.

So my final vote is NV. :D
