What "man jobs" have you done today?

Very nice! My Man Cave is still an utter tip after having to clear it out to allow the fitting of insulation blocks to the ceiling.

Thanks - done for the day - just a chipboard top to fit and I'm good to go :D

anyone know a good sprayable grease for a boiler fan? Ours started squeaking and siezed. The chap got it working with AC90 spray and we've ordered a replacement but I think we should probably grease it given previous comments a few days ago.

Watching this too, boiler fan at our temporary house keeps seizing every 4-5 months and been blagging it with WD40  for the time being but need a longer lasting solution.

Chased down a squeak in my Workmate and oiled it. Probably the most satisfying moment of DIY all year :p

Still doing a few other odd jobs and a guitar repair so the squeak was driving me (and probably housemates) mad.

What guitar repair? Do share!

Yeah exactly. We've had the new fan unit fitted now and kept the old one given it just needs greasing up. Might never need it but would rather know we have a viable spare than just skip it. I'm wondering if she lithium grease might do it or whether that's the wrong thing.

I say guitar... It's called a charango apparently. Like a South American sort of ukulele. Someone local asked me to sort it out, the bridge was glued down 1cm further up that it should be.

Tried to remove the bridge - it split, so had to make a brand new one. Currently got that glued on and just need to re-polish the soundboard around it. I'll do some pics when it's finished!

Struggling to find a replacement for this one hence the temporary fix

Finished painting the kitchen. Just need to put window trims in tomorrow and seal skirting to floor.
Fitted some new LED downlighters, WiFi Google assistant controlled too lol. Bit pointless but weren't much more money and good you can change the warmth and brightness.

Wall paper stripped to half a bedroom and toilet leak sorted by replacing the seals at each end of the flush pipe, the latter sounds minor but gerberit units are awful and make a 5 min job take a lot longer than it should.

You are a proper man. Did you fill the other half today?

Only filled it to three quarters today :) . Put in the drilled soil pipes, covered with gravel, backfilled and replaced the turf. Pegged out ready for the scalpings.

I've a non-manly confession to make: I'm clenching a hot water bottle with my right hand and it's bliss!

What is the purpose of them (what I presume) lights? Do you have art on the wall usually?

They look like floating shelf brackets with bubble wrap on the ends to stop you cutting your head when you inevitably whack it.
You win!

Right at eye level, really don't want a trip to the hospital, especially at the moment!

Today I put the trim round the window and door in the kitchen. Sealed the skirting to floor.
Resealed worktop. Put floating shelves back on. I think that's the kitchen done.

Changed hallway and living room light.

On the the little hallway tomorrow downstairs....
