What "man jobs" have you done today?

Removed three flourescent lights in the garage and fitted four -4ft LED batten lights - keep thinking I have left garage door open it's so bright.

Did 2 tip runs early this morning before it got busy due to the covid queue system and filled an old dried up pond in. Then had an afternoon snooze.

Went on Ebay and picked up two for £16 - fitted them and was so impressed went to order two more - They hadn't got any more listed so looked round and one was £17 - i thought up yours.
Asked mate over the road if he wanted some because there was a pack of 4 just like ones I have for £34 so just over £8 each.
One other thing is they are dimmable -not that I will dim them - you just turn on-off-on quick to change lumens or something -lowest setting was as bad as my old lights.
Also you will need some thin cable to connect them - I ordered 0.5mm twin (no earth on these) to do mine as the feed cable is very thin.
Also ordered some small chocolate connectors - it did make the second lot easier to put up.

PS they are listed at 54w but further down the bumf they state 40w

This might be the item number ( 254893496108 )

Dug out a load of roots, dug over and dug in compost to an area of the garden we cleared a few weeks ago. Then placed plants and canes (representing trees were waiting on being delivered) to create a "woodland" area of the garden.

Thanks for sharing the link, cheaper than I thought.
Just wondering, is warm or cool light better for the garage?
Cool is closer to daylight so more psychologically stimulating in theory - I've got cool lights over/around my work desk and would use the same in a garage or workbench area. Overall better light to actually look at stuff under.

I have one of those Flouro type strip lights and it's not a patch on the ones I have just fitted. They are all 40w.

When I first fitted it it made the old ones look so dim - but now it's the other way round - Best update of anything I have done lately.
I had to wonder round garage storage boxes with a hand torch it was so dim.

Best asking here rather than new thread I think.

I have some small shelves in the kitchen that are mounted onto plasterboard. One was removed to repaint, and put back in with existing fixtures. It’s subsequently came off the wall, unsurprisingly.

Ive filled the holes. My question is can I remount in the same place, drilling new holes through the filler for one screw/wall plug, and use the other two, sound, existing plugs?
Or should I give up having a shelf there?

Those LED strip lights look great! Going to fit those in my Man Cave which has zero natural light and the ceiling is covered in non-reflective black insulation blocks.
