What "man jobs" have you done today?

Real manly job of defrosting the chest freezer in the garage

CBA waiting for it to defrost so attacked it with a scraper

Decided that wasn't "man" enough so swapped to a trowel

Jobs a goodun and also crated a small black run just outside the garage door

Did you have the web page open on chest freezers that can be collected today, just in case

Hollow cored the front and back gardens... Circa 65m² by hand while it started to rain :(

All done now. Took about an hour and just left all the little plugs on the lawn. Will let them dry out (if it ever stops raining ) and then use the scarifier to break them up during the lawn renovation in a couple of weeks or so.

I would say only ever use plastic tools on something like this. I remember getting a hissing sound when I slipped with a small knife when cleaning out a fridge once. An expensive mistake. Another good method is a pan full of boiling water and close the lid.
However, if you want to be alpha male get the 12 inch marshalltown trowel out

I started off with a plastic window scraper (see first pic) but it was taking too long

I really cba boiling multiple kettles (it's a large chest freezer) and bowls so went in with the "let's do this" option :D

We just blast it with a hairdryer with the freezer unplugged.

Cleaned solar panels, windows, gutters etc...
But completely forgot of if the kids windows and guttering above.....doh!

Failed, missus won't be impressed when she gets home :D

Love how the cost savings of a chest freezer (cheap meat, bulk buy) can quickly be offset by 10,000 kWh of hairdryer/fan/2 days of labour.
