What "man jobs" have you done today?

Painted the triangles in my son's room Xbox green...

...but despite the careful application of Frog Tape (the yellow, "delicate surfaces" version), it looks like dog poop. I don't have a steady enough hand to touch it up, so it'll have to wait until my Dad gets back from Hong Kong.

I won't shame myself with pictures.

Formed a flat roof today. 65mm to nothing firing strips (Fall) Fascia put on. Gutter detail done then laid the rubber out to relax overnight to get rid of the fold creasing from shipping. Just got to glue it down and put the trims on tomorrow and put the wallplate straps on inside.
First outing for the Gen 2 Hikoki first fix nail gun today and it was amazing. Loving the bump mode... blat blat blat :D :D

Technically, it wasn't me, but we had the log burner replaced as it was old and warped.

The wooden beam is fake, it's actually porcillin and is a heatsink for the Sky glass 65" TV.

Just need to do some painting.
Nice stove !

Looks a lot like my bro/sis in laws. Lovely big window and bet it kicks out some heat

Thanks! It's a Hamlet Solution 5 Widescreen. One log does about 45 mins. Despite it being warm weather, we did fire it up (Excuse the pun!!) last nigtt and it got quite toasty. Now need to fill up the log store. I also need a chainsaw...

Found a A4 note book and have started a To Do list - half way down page already - My trouble has been round too it's - seem to have run out so need to find some more.
Every thing is getting harder as years flash by. One minute you have all the time in the world then thump!! Didn't last year race by and we are now in middle of April and still not done enough job's -These are simple jobs like putting mower up for sale etc.
Oh well I think I will just go and make a cup of tea and think about it. Welcome to old age.

Very nice !

Must admit we are still having a small burn in the lounge stove most evenings still :D

Electric or petrol though !

I was diagnosed with Autism last year (but we've known for decades) and the wife has just been labelled ADHD - it's an explosive combination:

I can spend hours creating The Official List, whilst she bounces off the walls attacking The List in a completely random order, not finishing them before moving onto the next one, whilst I have a meltdown because she hasn't even read Item 1...

So I create a secondary, Secret List, then have to abandon it to finish the Official List because The Cupboard (containing the majority of the things on both Lists) contents are now blocking the bathroom...

Neurodiversity is a bugger.

No idea. We’ve bought into the Ryobi ecosystem and I noticed they do several models, going up to 50cm. I suspect 30cm would suffice. Any experience of recommendations?

I have a "Parker Brand" petrol and a DeWalt (I bought into Team Yellow) electric and the 30cm DeWalt is more than enough for even the most sizeable of trucks and limbs I get delivered and process.

The ease, maintenance and general noise the DeWalt is a no brainier

The only real downside is it can eat through batteries if you have a lot of timber to process and want a decent session at it

I have 3x5amp and 2x4amp worth two chargers which seems to be "enough" for an hour or two of chopping :)

I've seen the size of your log store (oooer!) and it's way bigger than ours! I'll think I'll get a 30cm one and give it a go! Thanks

Autism and ADHD aside I believe that is the usual for most relationships, unless of course if you are both engineers, builders and the like.

I've learnt that if I describe a wall I will be removing a ceiling I will be dropping I get the usual 'OH No no', but if I just do it, I then get 'OH that looks good'

Next time she is doing the books I may just pick up the paperwork and scream 'Your doing it wrong you...' :D

So after putting the shed up (erecting  ) and building the dividing wall, next request, as expected, was can you put power to it .....

So easiest and most cost effective way was ...

hEmOaJI.jpeg

Pattress on the back of the diving wall

pqIcImo.jpeg

Run the cable from the Gazebo in the garden, quick hole in the side of the shed and feed the cable through.

Cut to length and wire the face plate back on

Back box onto pattress

Faceplate screwed back up and cable gland tightened

Plug in and ...

hssltGS.jpeg

All good !

One plug has two lights from it (front potting area and rear shed area)

beI57LF.jpeg

qlN5WQx.jpeg

Both are through a two gang switch on the dividing wall

LnC5oJB.jpeg

vvNOceU.jpeg

Other plug goes to a 4 gang extension through the diving wall into the potting area

hCnJ0Zk.jpeg

It will be screwed up to one of the walls once SWMBO decides which she wants it on

Even found an unused "dot" I've put in there for radio / Spotify etc when pottering about
