What maximum resolution can Display Port do?

4k at 60hz

Resolution × color depth
1280 × 720 × 24 bpp
1920 × 1080 × 24 bpp
1920 × 1200 × 30 bpp
2560 × 1600 × 30 bpp @ 60 Hz
3840 × 2160 × 30 bpp @ 60 Hz

Brilliant thanks. ok last one which dvi does 2560 x 1440 is it dual dvi so that's dvi-d yes what about dvi-I if that's right? Im confused, im trying to work out of gtx 660 NVidia card will power 3 x screens at 2560 x 1440.

DVI-I means it can output digital and analogue signals. DVI-D means digital only. Both can be dual link or single link (depending on the manufacturer of the card).

Dual-link DVI can do resolutions higher than 1920x1080, so yes it can do 2560x1440.

Which 660 was you planning to buy?

But which model :p (Asus, Gigabyte, EVGA, etc) They're the ones that decide what ports the card have after all.

And what do you plan to do on the PC with them?

Ah so it's an OEM 660.

According to this page both DVIs are dual link, so with the Displayport you will be able to do triple 2560x1440.

Don't expect great performance if you're planning to game on them however :p. It will be great for multitasking and things that can take advantage of multiple screens though.

Anyway I can check it can do that before I buy, see if overclockers have them.

Will it say on overclockers website if its defo able to do 3 x 2560 x 1440.

So you don't have the card yet? If that's the case then there are better choices than the 660 for triple 2560x1440, an AMD card would probably be better as they usually have more than one Displayport.

For example, this 7850: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-081-HS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=411

You don't really need a gaming card for your uses, even a low end card can do triple 2560x1440, as long as it has the right connections.

I also just read your trust message, if you're having GPU problems then it's better to ask here on the forums, I don't know everything and the community may give a better answer ;).
