Hi

Looking to change my motherboard, max 400FSB=3.6Ghz stable on my current board, but i'm sure i can get a lot more out of the cpu.
So what motherboard should i try with phase cooling,,
Thanks,

Im using a Asus P5B Deluxe, which I can take up to about 505FSB. When I was deciding, it was between the P5B and the Gigabyte DS4, but I decided on the P5B in the end as it has less complicated heatpipe cooling(Doesn't attach to the SB) which was usefull as ive watercooled the NB.

Edit; Mines a Gray Mole build as well. :)

Edit Edit;

Are you sure you can only get 400FSB? You sure its not just the FSB strap "Blackhole" your hitting? I think its between 360fsb-400fsb, things really get stressed, but as soon as you go over that, things ease off again right up to 500 or so. If I was you I'd try and see if you can boot at something like 420-450fsb.

I can boot up into winidows between 400-419fsb but it is very unstable, any higher fsb and it wont boot out of the bios

Have tried everything i can think off, i'm sure the problem is with the mb and not the cpu, as the cpu is very stable at 3.6ghz 400fsb.

you watercool your NB, so you have taken off the heat pipe, how have you cooled the psu regulators??

Everyone recommends this board, so i guess it the way to go..

Ive removed the heatpipe, and cut it in half, so that there is still a heatsink over the voltage regulators. Having said that, they don't actually get that hot. Ive also made sure that there is a slight airflow over the board to help things. :)

I'm a bit undecided too.

Currently using a DS3 in my watercolled rig and think rather than just move stuff over..build myself a new phase cooled pc.

ASUS P5B seems to be the choice of many.But I just don't like ASUS mobo's since my P5WDH days.Maybe the DS4 would be better?

Sorry to Hi Jack the thread :)
