Hi,

I'm going to be delving into the world of SSD's soon. I'm looking at the vertex 3 to be my boot drive containing the OS and pretty much all applications as it should comfortably fit within 120GB.

My question is what should I be looking at to complement the SSD?

This will mainly be a storage drive for music, videos and photos.

Do i need to look at the Caviar Black range from WD or will any old drive be good enough given it won't hold applications?

Very large (1TB+), slow(ish), quiet drive... like a WD green.

Why put a fast, noisy mechanical drive in a PC with an already fast, silent, ssd?

worth it for 5 year warranty imo the extra you pay for a 5 year warranty drive will be halved or almost made back when it comes to selling it on.
