What memory for my setup?

Asus Maximus Formula X38
Q9450

This will hopefully be my new system come next week, I am on the lookout for 4GB of good quality DDR2 ram.

What would you buy to get the best out of the system? I will attempt to overclock

Any ram you would avoid?

for an asus i would avoid OCZ ram, but thats another thread..... lol

I was going to get OCZ ram for my new build (which will be an asus mobo), why would you avoid?

I'd recommend that. It's on offer at the moment and is good memory.

If your mobo manufaturers home site says that Corsair XMS is Ok for your Particular mobo then get it as I rate it Very highly. Rock solid ram that does what it says on the tin.

running PC8500 fine on my setup

On my p5q pro used ocz ram and did not have any problems as well. Currently using 2x2gb of geil black dragon and runs fine though the corsair ones mentioned are great for the price.
