Hi all

Im new here. Needed some help on which memory I need to buy for my laptop

Its an Acer 8943G with 8gb installed (2x4Gb) and I used the crucial system scanner and it says I can go up to 16gb however I had it checked by a tech person for another problem and he said it reads up to 24gb as he installed 16gb more (2x8gb) to check

So I am confused on what I need to buy regarding speed etc?

Id ideally like performance memory because I do a lot of CAD and photoshop work.

Heres screen shots from CPUZ and crucial

I was looking at this set of memory: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-342-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1264

Would this work for my laptop?

Thanks in advance :)

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

Could you please remove the 3rd image as this would be classed as a competitor :)

The Memory should work but weather the system can run it the recommended speed of 1600mhz.

No probs :)

The documentation that come with the laptop or checking the Acer website should show the ram speed - in saying that is there any options in the BIOS to setup ram speed and timings.

well on CPUZ it was showing that the current speed of the installed memory is 1333 mhz

But I cant see any performance ram in the overclockers shop

How do I check for the options in BIOS?

Should I just get memory which is the same speed as my current ones?

I would do as you mention, stick with 1333mhz ram as you know it will work in your system.

If you press delete and search through the BIOS and see if there are Dram settings.
