Mortal Online looks pretty crap compared to even the now ancient UO, it makes WoW look good

Wow, I just love the fanboyism.

Darkfall is a niche game, just because it doesn't suit your needs doesn't mean it's bad. I've been playing since release and it's the most intense, fun game I've ever played.

Have you done a siege? naval combat? high level PvP?

Darkfall doesn't even come close to failing hard, however you sir, do.

Yes it was changed to F2P a month ago. And it was at 16.99 in the steam sales too.

Thing I like the most is that the "levels" don't really matter that much as it is more down to aiming/skill ( at least in pve as that is all I play at the moment ).

Granted, higher levels will have more credits so they can get the best "enchant" on their gear but that is only 1 or 2% more than the next "enchant" down.

Yeah, basically they allowed me to reactivate my old account and try out the game and expansion. I think there's even the option to try out the new expansion with a lvl80 character if you haven't got one already.

Now if you can work out what all the abbreviations mean, I am impressed :)

I'm going to go with Star Trek Online, Warhammer Online (although its more commonly referred to as WAR) , Eve Online (although its more commonly referred to as Eve) and Dungeons and Dragons Online (although its more commonly referred to as DDO)

I started playing AO about a year ago, and my first character is an MP too! :) I'm only at level 127 but I'm working on that. I've got a TL3 NT too but I don't like playing her as much, and a very low level doc.

Any tips for an mp? :)

You can still have fun as a Casual player. the guild I'm in does have casual players as long as you're pretty active. attend guild events etc.

but to gain high stats and skills it does take a while, quite a lot longer than most mmo's.

If you just level a 2 handed weapon and archery as well as a few vital spells then you can pretty much still do everything everyone else does. but I would suggest getting into a guild after you've learned the basics.

also forgot to mention the DF has a free trial now so you might want to use it before you reactivate an old account.

I guess you could try playing on some of the private server's out there (some are supposed to actually be quite rahter good), as many of them have started to implement patch 2.0 stuff and have increased the level cap to 55.

Might give you something to do until patch 2.0 comes out over here.
I'm considering it myself, to pass the time until the patch but don't know what priv server to go for.


I'm still keeping an eye on Darkfall and waiting for the big patches for it this year to see how it fares.
