I kind of asked this in another thread... but would like to keep that related to the general spec... but I'm after a socket 939 mobo with on board sound. It's going to be running an ATI X1800GTO and an X2 3800+. However, I have no desire to go with crossfire at any point with this machine... so... is it worth getting a cheaper board without crossfire? Or do the crossfire ones generally perform better / come with extra other goodies? (Also, I want this system to be quiet
)
Previously looking at: Asus A8R-MVP Crossfire
Two suggestions are:
Abit KN8 nForce4 (Socket 939)
Gigabyte SLi motherboard for £49.95ex Vat (This is passively cooled).
So questions are:
Which would be the better one?
Whats the nForce4 audio like?
Is the gigabit lan backwards compatible to 10mb/s? I noticed some motherboards have a gigabit lan connection AND a 10/100...
