also noticed this was new after reading a topic about it,

the design on that looks very nice worth the extra cash i must say. (even makes me want to spend the extra £20 for the extra 2" but then again, do i need that much more?)

im waiting DVI and VGA so i can hook my pc and laptop upto it and just switch between them.

i will use the monitor for gaming (not a 24/7 gamer, just around 5hours a week)
and for watching films/tv episodes off
and the normal web browsing nd msn
also webdesign nd photoshop

just woundering how can i check if my laptop can output "1680x1050 Resolution"?

laptop's model is HP Pavilion ze2000 nd has a ATI radeon 200M..

afaik the asus 2ms screen uses certain methods to push speed up which generally, from what i've read, result in not so good experience, marketing gimmick in other words.

the samsung i think is using a new tech, how similar it is i don't know, i'd wait for reviews i guess and too see if the higher contrast is gimmicky or actually noticeable.

personally, having messed around witha lot of screens, there can be fairly noticeable differences with the exact same panel based on which manufacturer is selling it. samsung and NEC screens, nec especially i have only seen fantastic screens from, dell, apparently a little hit and miss but i have the 2005fpw from a couple years ago and now the E207fpw and i think both were way above average quality for the panels they have the newest E207fpw is a fantastic screen for a great price. though i would say the samsung is likely to be good, if not better for almost identical price, either should be a good choice.
