What music do you enjoy most

Electronica lately, who needs instruments to make music ;) House/Trance is my thing.

Depends on my mood primarily though. My CD rack is a real mixed bag of stuff, Ranges from Moby to New Order to Jacko, its all good thats one thing it has in common :)

Punk, hardcore, hiphop.

Find it difficult to pick favourites a lot of the time but lately I've been listening to a lot of Death Before Dishonor, Casey Jones, Crime In Stereo, Rise Against, Latterman, Marathon, Jesse Dangerously, Atmosphere & Leatherface.

I like quite a wide range of music, but you just can't beat rock/metal in my book, it always gets my head moving about, hence the weird looks I get on the tube. ;)

My musical tastes have changed with age, the late 80's I enjoyed hip-hop, early 90's it was rave, mid 90's Jungle, late 90's UK garage, early 00's trance, and now I dont mind Indie, I still isten to all of the above, but if you made me choose one, then it would have to be the rave scene from 1990-1993, good times.

i get some very weird looks from people if i sit then tapping along to the double bass with my feet and nodding my head :P

I listen to classical almost exclusively now. I used to like black metal a lot but I've gone of it lately, I think I'm becoming a snob.

Favourite composers: Sibelius, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky, Bartok, Tchaikovsky, Schoenberg, Mahler, and other roughly Romantic composers. I like some older stuff but I know far less about it.

Favourite styles: I mainly like dark, brooding, introspective stuff (Rachmaninoff's Isle of the Dead, Sibelius's Der Schwan von Tuonela, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10 (particularly the first movement)), solo piano stuff (Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1, Rachmaninoff's Piano Concertos 3 and 4, etc.) as well as chaotic, happy stuff (Prokofiev's Scythian Suite (particularly the last movement), Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kijé Suite, etc.). Quite a mixed bag really.

Other than classical, I've been on a massive Manics kick lately, dunno why. I also like Xploding Plastix, a crazy Norwegian jazz-electronica band that are great and sample lots of cool movies. I still listen to black metal occasionally, bands like Graveland, Bathory, Nokturnal Mortum, Belenos, lots of more obscure bands that I've forgotten since I've been out of the loop for a year or so. In the summer I also listen to a lot of stoner rock - Karma to Burn, Biblical Proof of UFOs, Brant Bjork, Kyuss, QOTSA, Goatsnake, Unida etc. but I am physically unable to listen to it in the winter, it just doesn't feel right :p

Edit: Oh, I also went on a massive post-rock kick a while back and have been known to listen to some rather poofterish prog-rock too. I quite like 80s hip-hop but don't know anything about it so don't listen to it past the occasional spin of Straight Outta Compton when I'm feelin' gangsta :p

Whew!

Many bands to list in my fav's like Throwdown, Hatebreed, Between the Buried & Me, Converge. Take your Emo **** and shove it up your arse. IF you think Lost Prophets, Fall out boy and My chemical romance is real rock/metal/MUSIC you need to be shot, you know nothing :)

The music of Elvis Presley, specifically between 1969 and 1972.

After that comes the first five albums of Led Zepellin.

Then, late 90's trance and hard house.

It'll be easier to say what i dont like...

What is apparantly now classified as R&B, which as far as i can see is actually pop (Destiny's Child et al)
Rap - everything i've heard sounds the same, and seemingly revolves around crap american cars with really shiny alloy wheels
Sean Paul - worst music in history... ever
Dance/Trance etc - sounds like something i made on dance ejay when i was about 10...

these are all just my opinion, so dont flame, but constructive comments please

I enjoy good music the most. Good music transcends genres, so there's no point in trying to list some :)
