What Music Player are you using (Windows Vista)

Going to try Itunes properly myself tonight!
Does anyone find that it lags? It lagged on my old PC. But as my New PC arrived on sat i'm going to give it one more go!

I always felt that when i switched tracks (which I do a lot) it just started to lag so much.

From experience with it on others PC's if you have a reasonaby large library it will lag.

WMP for me, does exactly what it says on the tin and when I can't be bothered to drag and drop works with my m3 player and phone.

I use Winamp on my PC, and WMP on my laptop, just because they're both easy to use and do everything I need them to :)

another for windows media player, does almost everything for me if it dont then i use kmplayer which i also use for video.

I use itunes now I got the ipod shuffle (had a persistant problem with it which required reinstalling and removing previous problems though :( ), previously I used windows media player.

This is my main problem with iTunes - functionally, I don't think it's as bad as it's often made out to be, and it's very easy to use. However, it starts to lag perceptibly if your library is even a few dozen albums, and it just chokes completely on my collection of 20,000+ tracks (this is on a slightly overclocked Q6600/4GB RAM).

I do still have it installed, purely so that I can access the iTunes store for album art, which is generally very decent quality and often uses versions of the original digital files rather than scanned images.

For everything else, it's foobar2000 all the way - there's a learning curve which many people find off-putting for something as "trivial" as an audio player, which is fair enough, but having got used to its capabilities I can't imagine ever going back to anything else. :)

iTunes here, I've used it since day one back in my Mac days, its always done evcerything I need in a music player, i.e play music and sync my iPods/iPhone I'm yet to notice any lags with a library of >6000 tracks. Simplify also plays very nicely with it for accessing my music on the move.

Mmm... played with Itunes last night. I have about 400GB of music. I tried adding about 30GB. It now needs a wheelchair on my brand new Titan Vulcan. Felt so sad about it.. GRRRR.

Its fine. i'll now switch to Winamp again! Will report tonight or tomorrow morning on how it is!

Sammy

foobar for me.

might i just add that windows media player is the most evil piece of crap ever made. unless you remember specifically to tell it not to update your files, you might find it overwrites your lovely 600x600 embedded album art with uber low quality crap it decides is better...... i don't even think itunes stoops that low. :p

Winamp + ml_ipod plugin + ClassicPro

I prefer the way WMP11 looks, and navigation of music. But lack of iPod decent iPod sync is a downside.

iTunes I have tried in the past, but I just don't get on with it. I don't like they way it looks or works. The media library is awful (IMO).

One thing I find very very annoying about my Windows Media Player is that sometimes when I click the 'x' button the music still keeps playing and the only way for me to turn it off is by going into task manager!!!!!

Is this apparent for everyone or is it just my machine?

Happens to me now and then. I thought it's only a Windows 7 problem (only experienced it in Windows 7)

I am now using Winamp; use to use WMP until they for some reason unknown, do not list all my songs in my library of only 32GB. So I went to Songbird, liked it but doesn't support syncing (meh?!), tried Foobar2000 where everyone raved about. Not as good and the newer version hardly have any skins available (stock UI is pants)

Winamp is still the better in terms of being able to do all that I need and still look sleek and organised.

Winamp, but solely because I'm too lazy to try something else. It works, and whilst it's getting slightly more bloated as the years pass by, it's still nowhere near as fat as iTunes.

Are you Me??... :confused::confused:

Thats EXACTLY (well not word for word) what I was gonna put!!.. :)

Oh and I can sync my Ipod touch with it too!

mlipod.dll plugin for Winamp!... works with iPod, touch and phone...
