I just signed up for that website looks pretty good to me.

Also with web development/programming is w3schools.com a good place to start?

Apparently they're not good. http://w3fools.com/ There's some suggestions on there for sites with the basics. I'd also recommend itunes U. I believe Harvard have a load of lectures on web development.

I've just finished placement so my summer is going to be gym, learning French, Python and hopefully develop an application of some sort.

I will either try to get a head start on engineering maths or learn a program language (or both).
