What next for 2010

I was asking myself the same question. The only noteworthy things l can see in 2010 is the availability of 32nm chips from Intel. People with the itch to upgrade from the 775 socket to new 32nm i5 or i7 setups will be interested. In addition we have the release of i9 which will cost a fortune and will only bring benefits to people using apps that take advantage of such power.

On the AMD front we have Thuban. If is quite cheap then it might be good choice for some people. Unfortunately we will need to wait until 2011 for Bulldozer and Sandy Bridge.

isnt I3 and I5 coming out in Q1 or Q2 of 2010.

They are for labtop. Arracdale <--- or something like that I think.

I have been waiting for a new labtop.

i9 is out q1 2010 roughly, theres a i7 930 rumoured
New s type versions of the existing 1156 socket chips eg lower tdp

Thats good news on the i9 front. Im not upgrading until my bday which is in october, so thoes i9 should be quite good by then with quite a few motherboards to choose from aswell:)

i9 is socket 1366 anyway so i wont expect to see many new mobo's

Also i9 will be around £600 they're workstation/ extreme high end cpu's to be honest

to be honest most games are gunna be straight ports now so even a modest speeded quad will be fine for almost all games maybe longer.

Im upgrading my e6850 to a q9650 later this month or maybe next month, that should sort me out on the cpu front until hopefully october.
