Well after six weeks training in the army im out, i decided it aint for me. Now im deciding on what to do for my next job. During my training i got into my head that i would like to go college and have a part time job.
Ive got it in my head that i want to work in healthcare, but thats the problem i may have a bit of an old fashioned view but i might be a bit embarressed to go through with it.
Im not quit sure what field i want to get into, maybe working in a retirement home. One problem i see is, that the money is rubbish, my gran was a cook in a retiremnt home and she was on like £5 an hour. Also i cant see there being much of a career out of it.
Anyone work in healthcare share to shed some light.

What was making you think it wasnt for you?

Especially after just 6 weeks?

Edit: My Girlfriend is a Health Care worker and shes sick of it at the age of 20.
Not the greatest job to have me thinks, plus it would probably be fairly bitchy and crap for your back is my impressions

See if you can find some sort of voluntary care work to begin with. I imagine there are plenty of places crying out for help and it will give you a good idea what it's all about.

You guys are right, i think ill find something else, im sure something will come up:)

i wasnt saying you shouldnt work in healthcare,

i was just asking what your motives are ? and why you want to

sounds like you are a bit unsure yourself of what you want

college / studying might a good idea.. what would you want to study ?

Don't study something for the sake of it. You need to think about what you want from a job, do you want to help people? Do you want to ork with computers? etc.. and start working towards it, whether that involves a college course or working your way up.

You seemed set on the army for quite a while going on previous threads, what changed your mind? Have you quit yet? Is it likely that in the future you'll regret it?

gotta be honest - quite weird post there.....

When reading it it almost feels like a script uhh.....
like... youve copy n pasted a script from somewhere then edited it a little? Not sure... but its a weird post man.

GJ :D

sorta leads onto my next question....

Is there such a thing as an internet site that hosts template "talk" - "spam" scripts depending on what the user wants to blab about?

I have quit, im back at home now.

I honestly aint got a clue what i want to do, i am having a month off though just doing nothing. Besides college doesnt start to may, so as soon as i can ill go get a college course book and have a look through.

So why did you quit you never answerd me?

Also since you looked at the army here are some jobs which may inmterest you.

Police
Firefighter
Rescue Worker
Paramedic

So now why did you quit and why wasnt it for yu?

What made you quit bakes if you dont mind me asking? I've followed your posts on here and you always seemed really up for it. I've been applying to join the army myself but I'm having doubts after going to selection, not sure if I'd fit in. Although at the moment I've been deferred for having a heart murmur.

Shame you quit the army mate, Basic Training is nothing like it is in the field army, i work 8:30 till 4:30, get most weekends off, throw in the odd 6 month trip to the hot and sandy, and excercises every now again. its not a terrible life.

im planning to do another degree and a masters and join the military....

why wasnt it for you?

from what you've said i feel like your scared to kill someone and now you want to help people, it sounds like a movie :s

should have stuck it out as things change drastically around the 7 month mark, I hope you don't live to regret this decision.
Good luck with your civvy life.
