What next for Nvidia card lineups

Nvidia prob wont dare release high after the fiasco over the current GTX280 launch price

Well some people did buy at those prices ;)
But no, they won't, it'll be 300£ at the very max, and really at that point with those shader clocks it really does beat the 4870 by a whole lot, and might even reach the 4870x2 in some cases, with no driver trouble.

Surely with all the price slashes the 280's been going through, they wouldn't be making much in the way of profit of the 280, especially considering it's massive core size (even with 55nm tech it'll be massive).

If a GX2 style things came out, I'd imagine it'd be along the lines of two 55nm GTX260 stuck together, like what they did last time (two underclocked 8800GTS stuck together)

Sure they'll make profit, their yields have improved, the reason for their beginning trouble was extremely low yields. As long as they can get even better yields on the 55nm version they will be awesome cards.

I think a gx2 version is still pretty far off and probably by then ati will have little dragon near to completion. I think Nvidia's new gtx280+ will be a pretty nice card though and should pull it closer to a 4870x2 but still be pretty far off considering the 4870x2 is on average 30 percent quicker at top res with aa. I think ati will hold the performance lead for a while to come but on price performance it should be close as there should be a little price drop on the x2.

Apart from in GRID, wouldnt surprise me if at 19x12 the 280+ matches X2, think X2 will be for 30" screens 26x16 with AA/AF where it excels
