Homicide, was written by some of the same guys as The Wire IIRC.
How are you with subtitles? If so then check out Spiral(parts one and two) a gritty French cop drama. Part 3 is due on BBC 4 soon

Is the West Wing boring? As it looks boring, and this is coming from someone that loved Deadwood and loves Boardwalk Empire.
