what nokia ?

I've just upgraded from a 6680 to a N73. Seemed like the most natural upgrade for me as I was extremely happy with the 6680.

i'm in the same position...got a 6680 and can upgrade in november so i've been looking at the options.

i was looking to get an n91 but after a closer look at nokias current range have decided the N73 with 2gb card is a better option :)

Not even there N93?

Nope thats an absolute brick of a phone and the camera isnt that great. The p990i 2mp camera wiped the floor with it and i would imagine the k800i camera would trample all over it.
From what i have been reading the N93 seems to only excel in making videos and thats about it really.

Nokia owned the mobile market for so long for a few reasons, the main one being their handsets were so sturdy and reliable.
this just isn't the case these days and IMHO Samsung and Sony Erricson have stole their thunder.
at the moment i'm running 2 contract nokias and both of them randomly reboot themselves for no apparent reason.

I've run both a SE and Nokia and i do agree that the SE are great for the camera etc, but going from the 6680 to a SE will be bit of an odd shift if you liked certain ways you liked your phone worked. I've done the whole Nokia > SE thing, i've recently gone back to the n73. So it all comes down to what you're looking for in a phone, for an all round performer in all areas for business and pleasure use then the n73 + memory card. For pure pleasure/txting/calling the k800 has the camera is brillant on it

I always heavily lean against Nokia as I have always liked them over the years, way back to the day when they released there 3210, gorgeous phone at the time and even though there are lots of others, I still prefer the Nokia brand, mostly its all on the texting side and how it all works with Nokia that doesnt seem to work as well with others for some reason.

Would that be your SE that just completely died on you for no reason?!

not sure what you mean to be honest.
i've had handsets from pretty much every brand and i can't say there's any major difference when texting from any of them.
personally i have to say i've found Samsung to be the easiest to use and the only people i've heard say otherwise are Nokia users who complain because it's just different and not better or worse.
years ago Nokias were the handset of choice, there's no doubt of that.
now though, they just aint as tough as they were.
i think most of their business comes from people such as yourself who have been Nokia-loyal for years and automatically discount all other brands without considering that there are better handsets out there.

The few times that I have defected from Nokia there has always been something that I have just not liked about it, I admit its mostly on the texting side as I just love the way that Nokia has it all. No having to request separatly for it to be saved to a sent box, and with Nokia there is no text message limits.

Im sorry, but I always have been, and always will be, sold on Nokias. I have at the moment a Samsung E900 and cant wait to get rid of it and get a Nokai N93, just after they finish there product recall and sort out whatever problem they currently have.
