What nvidia gpu would be best to get the most out of my core duo 2 6600 running at 3.2ghz, i mean what gpu would not get bottlenecked, only have a 9600gt at the moment, for instance if i put one of the latest nvidia gpu in my pc, would i see much benifit useing this 5 yearold cpu, cheers

Hi guys, thx for replys, i just want to keep useing this pc for as long as possible, but current gpu struggles with latest games, jsut wanted to maybe chuck in another gpu for a while, would a 2** or 4** series give me like twice the fps ? or if i did add a newer card ready for a future upgrade, would that be worth it, i mean a old cpu would not damage a new card would it.

Yeh i run at 1920 x 1080 on tv, it runs older games great, but for instance i got borderlands 2 and recent mxgp and struggles.

Thx for the Mantle info, sounds very good, at the moment i dont want to upgrade pc, just wanted to know if it was worth just putting in like a £50/£100 gpu for now, and maybe upgrade in 6 months/year.

Just checked, i actually have a Core 2 Duo E7300 not 6600, not much difference i know, will deffo be a 2nd hand card i get, maybe even B-grade.

well my e7300 is default 2.6ghz, but i have it overclocked to 3.2mhz on stock cooler, runs hot thou, the amd 7770 is a lot of card for that money, but want to stick to a nvidia really.

Not really, its just that i have had them for the last 10+ years, hard to change sometimes, i will look more into it thou, cheers

Getting yourself a second hand 275/285 will give you a boost over your current 9600.
You should have access to the MM, put a wanted thread i'm sure loads of people have one of those cards ready to go to a new home. £30 should cover it.

Yeh, i have been looking on there, its just that i wanted to know what card to look for really, i have some ideals now, thx
